We slept in a little, had a scrumptious breakfast, which certainly is the most important meal of the day! And got to see the male peacock in all his glory. Continue reading

Cape Town Day 1: Arrival
Aquila Private Gaming Reserve
After about a 2 hour bus ride, we arrived at the reserve. Check in was a little chaotic but we got all checked in. After we settled into our rooms, we went back to reception to get our complimentary wine and explored the amenities. Continue reading
Cape Town Bound
Being an American Airlines girl, I was a little concerned about traveling with another airline. I went ahead and created a Mileage Plus Account with United Airlines (One Star Alliance Partner) to keep the miles from the trip. It’s always good to have miles with more than one airline so that you are always racking up points. Continue reading
Nope, I’m not The One.
Right or wrong, we all have our beliefs. I happen to believe in a God who empowers and enables us to do great things. Great things come about in many ways… Continue reading
Discovering Home Chef…
I am on a meal delivery kick! Last time I tried Blue Apron, this time I tried Home Chef. I signed up for two servings at $39.80 and they charge $10 for shipping cost. After applying a $30 credit, I only paid $19.80. That equates to $4.95 a serving. Without the credit, it would be $12.45 a serving, which is more per serving than Blue Apron. When you sign up, you can set your meal preferences and select from a variety of options. Continue reading
Puerto Rico…
I went to Puerto Rico for my brother’s 40th birthday. We spent five days and four nights in the island. We stayed at the Gran Melia Resort in Rio Piedras and rented a Jeep Wrangler to travel the island. It was a short trip, so we will most definitely go back to cover more territory. Continue reading
Discovering Blue Apron
I tend to be a creature of habit, especially when it comes to myself. Being single, it’s so easy to order take out, go to a restaurant, cook up some eggs, instead of being creative in the kitchen for one. Continue reading
You, officer, did not do your job… and that’s not OK.
As a 38 year old single Latina, I can probably count on one hand how many situations I have experienced direct discrimination based either on my race, gender or civil status. While these situations have affected me, today I realize that they are nothing compared to the severity of discrimination that still exists in this country today towards African Americans. Continue reading
The vicious cycle of human exchange
Tonight I came home as the sun was setting. I pulled up a chair to sit and watch it… had to make sure everything went down ok… and guess what, the sun set just fine! As I sat and watched the beauty of the changing colors, my mind began to wander… Continue reading
The search is over…
I have learned to love those moments when you walk into a room full of people, make eye contact with one person and the room changes. There’s a familiarity in their eyes that eases your spirit. Up until that moment, you were complete strangers, then something magical happens and your mood brightens up almost instantly. Continue reading
